Colorblind Assistant is an interesting free application which automatically selects the colour marked by your mouse pointer on the screen, and offers valuable information, especially if you use photo editing programs.

In just a small window of 192x128 pixels, Colorblind Assistant tells you the exact name of the colour that you're pointing the cursor at, its RGB values, brightness and saturation levels, and even an extended version of the marked area to select it precisely, pixel by pixel.

Any information collected may be of great use if you usually work with graphics-related programs. Moreover, as Colorblind Assistant works in real time, not only is it effective with still photographs, but also with moving images and videos.
